The PIPEX exhibits will consist of 180 16-page frames and will be displayed in the Seattle Center Olympic room. Hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM Friday through Sunday (4 PM closing on Sunday). The bourse will have 25 stamp dealers including the U.S. Postal Service. The bourse, held in the Rainier Room, opens at 10 AM daily and closes at 6 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 4 PM on Sunday.

There will be an American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors (AAPE) Exhibiting Seminar and a critique of the exhibits offered Saturday afternoon in the Seattle Center Orcas Room. The Awards Banquet will be held Saturday evening at 7 PM at the Show Hotel.

There are no on-site hotels at the Seattle Center. PIPEX has arranged for the Best Western Executive Inn to be our show hotel and has negotiated a special rate of $129.00 per night for either a single King or Queen or a double Queen for one or two people. All rooms are non-smoking. Parking is extra. The Best Western Executive Inn is located at 200 Taylor Avenue North. It is one block east of the Fun Forest which is on the east side of the Seattle Center diagonally across the Center grounds from the bourse and the exhibits. Walking distance is approximately 5 blocks across the Seattle Center grounds.

The Best Western Executive Inn can be reached at 206.448.9444 (toll free at 800.351.9444). Ask for the PIPEX 2008 rate. Reservations can be made for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday nights at the above rate until April 25th. The rate is also available for the three preceding dates and the three following dates based on availability. There will be a hospitality room at the hotel. A word of caution – make your reservation ASAP as once the hotel’s unblocked rooms become full, our block of rooms will be reclaimed by the hotel for regular guests. Seattle is a cruise ship port city and the demand for rooms at certain times becomes intense. Book early. Individual reservations can be cancelled up to 4PM day of arrival without penalty.

Banquet tickets must be purchased in advance. There are three choices for dinner (1) Salmon, (2) London Broil, and (3) Vegetarian. Dinner includes coffee or tea, and desert. Tickets can be purchased for $40 from Chic Bertolacci; 11620 N.E. 134th Street; Kirkland, WA 98034; 425-821-3090. There will be a no-host bar available from 6:30 to 7:30.

There is convenient transportation to downtown Seattle from both the hotel and the show site. Details will be posted later.

Additional older boutique hotels are available closer to the show site. They are older buildings without the amenities of a more modern inn. Information and rates will be posted soon.
